Norway’s official Olympic team sweater for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. The design is a fusion of Chinese and Norwegian traditions, with a nod to Olympic history. The star pattern on the chest originates from the classic Norwegian eight-petal rose. The form is sharpened and crystallized, inspired by Chinese paper folding (called zhezhi) and Asian cartoons.

A protective merino wool flap under the neck zipper ensures comfortable aeration, without exposing the skin to cold air.

About the Wool

Zefir - Skinsoft Merino wool.

Our superwash merino wool is one of the finest wool qualities available. Coming from merino sheep living in a warm climate, merino has very fine and long staple fibers, giving a very smooth next-to-skin comfort. Naturally, our wool is mulesing-free. Garments knitted with Zefir can be machine washed using wool-cycle. (Fiber diameter: 20.5 micron)

History

Padded stripes along the sleeves and a padded Chinese inspired neck hints to alpine sweaters from the 70s. Padded letters spelling “Norway” are knitted discretely into the back, only revealed when the light casts shadows.

In the center of the chest pattern you’ll find a crystallized version of the Ying & Yang symbol.
